Filing Period: Oct 1 – Nov 30 Cost: $55 Application: Student must submit a separate application for each campus Online application: Notification: January – June SIR (Statement of Intent to Register) May 1st Transcripts: Are only required if a student receives a request from the college Admissions office

Geometry must appear in transcript If you have taken a class outside of your high school – UC’s may ask for official transcript even if the class has been added to your high school transcript. Campuses can request additional information, including letters of recommendation.

9 Private Colleges “a-g” requirements
Many independent schools are very competitive Pay attention to all deadlines. Every college/university makes its own rules on eligibility. Read all information carefully. The Audition Portfolio The Interview

10 Applying Early EARLY DECISION: Binding – must withdraw all other applications if accepted. Can only apply early to one college. EARLY ACTION: non-binding – may consider other options if accepted. Early options are for those students who do NOT need to repeat SAT or ACT scores and who are SURE of their college choice.

740 Members – Many private schools, including most of the top elite schools use this system as it just makes it easier for students to fill out and submit the application. Create an account: After completing the application, use the “My Colleges” section to ask your counselor and teachers to write letters of recommendation

15 Conservatory Application
To enroll at Boston Conservatory, students must be both academically accepted into the program and artistically accepted into the program. To apply, follow the steps outlined below. 1) Application Fee The non-refundable $110 application fee should be paid online by credit card. Boston Conservatory at Berklee also accepts application fee waivers from College Board, NACAC, or your guidance office 2) Academic Transcripts High school transcripts are required for all freshman and transfer applicants who have not completed two full years of college work. 3) Letters of Recommendation For all applicants, two letters of recommendation are required Audition You will be contacted about auditioning after you have submitted your application.

Provide teachers and counselor with a copy of the “brag sheet” 2. Submitting his/her own COMPLETE APPLICATION (app, essays, fee, official Transcript, SAT or ACT scores) 3. It is the students responsibility to be aware of application deadlines. 4. Senior Folder Deadline – October 11-31st, 2017

19 Changes to the FAFSA Process for 2017-18
SUBMIT A FAFSA EARLIER: Students will be able to submit a 2017–18 FAFSA as early as Oct. 1, 2017, rather than beginning on Jan. 1, The earlier submission date will be a permanent change, enabling students to complete and submit their FAFSAs as early as October 1 every year.
