We all have opinions about the activities we participate in, some we love, some are fine, some bore us, and some interest us. Today we are going to learn how to say these things in Spanish.

4. Gustar (to like, to be pleasing)

<no> Te gusta (You <don’t> like)
Interesar (To interest)
<no> Me interesa (It <doesn’t> interest/s me)
<no> Te interesa (It <doesn’t> interest/s you)

5. Aburrir (to bore)
<no> Me aburre (It <doesn’t> bore/s me)
<no> Te aburre (It <doesn’t> bore/s you)
Encantar (to really like, to enchant)
Me encanta (It enchants me, I really like)
Te encanta (It enchants you, You really like)

6. Practice on the left side
Write the following in Spanish.
I really like to read.
It bores me to clean.
It interests you to dance.
You really like to play video games.

7. We can say our opinions about classes too!
I really like Spanish class.
Me encanta la clase de Español.
I’m interested in art class (The art class interests me).
Me interesa la clase de arte. (La clase de arte me interesa).
I’m bored in science class (The science class bores me).
Me aburre la classe de ciencias. (La clase de ciencias me aburre.)
**Both options are right. I think saying “me aburre” or “me interesa” first is less confusing! **

8. Practice Activity
Each of you, tear out a piece of paper from your notebook. Fold it once hamburger style. Open it. Then fold it once hotdog style. Open it.

9. Pick a Side Listen to the instructions FULLY before you begin
On one side you will write down things like:
Me gusta, me encanta, me aburre, me interesa
On the other side you will write down things with “NO”:
No me gusta, no me aburre, no me interesa, no me gusta
