Design Progress Design Civil design work almost 100 percent complete
Typical design questions and issues continue to be raised during construction and are handled by DTP with RTD oversight Safety certification of the designs is progressing well Construction is 63 percent complete and on schedule for revenue service in 2016 Track crew works on crossover switch on approach to Denver Airport Station

Systems Progress Systems
Traction power substation installation far along Energizing from the Xcel grid scheduled for fall Overhead wire installation nearly complete along East Rail Line Installation of train control equipment houses under way throughout the project in advance of other wayside equipment installations, including grade crossing equipment Track gantry (foreground) and RTD substation (background) at Sandown will feed power to the East Rail Line

Commuter Rail Vehicle All 50 car bodies from the base order are in Hyundai Rotem’s assembly facility in Philadelphia Six option car bodies to arrive in plant by October; 10 additional cars due in 2015 First cars completed, awaiting final inspection and shipment to Denver this fall Public viewing tentatively planned in mid-November; official announcement forthcoming

Maintenance Facility Denver has issued temporary occupancy permit for building Operations Control Center near completion Grading work for drainage continuing across the site OCS poles and yard light poles installed Ballast and track work well under way Separate train wash building closed in, wash system installation under way The building structure is complete; track and power installation under way

Newly opened 40th Avenue between Blake and York streets
East Rail Line 40th Avenue between Blake to York streets reopened on June 30 after 18-month closure Platform concrete pours and canopy work underway Most corridor protection barrier construction nearing completion At-grade crossings well under way Newly opened 40th Avenue between Blake and York streets

Eagle P3 Bridges East Rail Line: 18 of 19 bridge structures completed; I-70 Flyover Bridge nearing completion after steel girders set on final three spans over UP tracks Gold Line: 4 of 7 bridge structures completed; Moffat Flyover Bridge and Kipling freight and commuter rail bridges well under way Northwest Rail: 4 of 6 bridge structures completed; Clear Creek Bridge well under way, 64th Avenue road bridge scheduled to start construction in fall 5,000-foot Interstate 70 Flyover Bridge

Coordination with Adjacent Projects
Peoria Crossing complete and now moves traffic over the East Rail Line and Union Pacific alignment DTP is currently installing a temporary track crossing of the street to enable its construction work to continue in the area. Peoria Crossing Successful ribbon-cutting on June 12, bridge now entirely open to traffic I-225 Light Rail Line Gas line relocation on 33rd Avenue at Peoria in advance of Eagle roadway reconstruction

Olde Town Arvada Environmental reevaluation draft released after input from consulting parties, historic societies; public meeting held last month Arvada’s project will provide new bus transfer facility and 640+ spaces in parking garage Rendering of city-proposed Olde Town Station parking garage and bus facility (Subject to change) Denver Airport Platforms nearing completion Passenger transit center being fitted out Hotel almost enclosed and interior finishes underway Once these are complete, RTD’s existing bus facility/pnR off Wadsworth bypass will be closed.
