3 An Act to Strengthen the System of Arkansas Educational Leadership Development; and for other purposes Strengthen Arkansas Educational Leadership Development and Provide School Support

4 Leadership Coordinating Council
Three Purposes: Serve as a central body to coordinate the leadership development system efforts across the state; Assist the Department of Education, the Department of Higher Education, the Department of Workforce Education, the Arkansas Leadership Academy and other leadership and school support efforts; and Aid in the development of model evaluation tools for use in the evaluation of school administrators.

Leadership recruitment Principal mentoring Superintendent mentoring Innovative programs to address deficient areas: All organizations focused on recruitment ADE is redesigning the principal’s mentoring program with input from a Task Force AAEA is developing the superintendent’s mentoring program Progress made to improve school leadership: Teacher evaluation rubric Principal evaluation rubric Plans to improve school leadership: Develop a strategic plan for an Arkansas Leadership System Recommend a superintendent’s evaluation rubric and professional development for school boards Support changes in licensure
