3. An Act to Strengthen the System of Arkansas Educational Leadership Development; and for other purposes
Strengthen Arkansas Educational Leadership Development and Provide School Support

4. Leadership Coordinating Council
Three Purposes:
Serve as a central body to coordinate the leadership development system efforts across the state;
Assist the Department of Education, the Department of Higher Education, the Department of Workforce Education, the Arkansas Leadership Academy and other leadership and school support efforts; and
Aid in the development of model evaluation tools for use in the evaluation of school administrators.

Identify: Deficient areas of school leadership, innovative programs to address deficient areas, progress made to improve school leadership, plans to improve school leadership

All organizations focused on recruitment
ADE is redesigning the principal’s mentoring program with input from a Task Force
AAEA is developing the superintendent’s mentoring program

Principal evaluation rubric
Plans to improve school leadership:
Develop a strategic plan for an Arkansas Leadership System
Recommend a superintendent’s evaluation rubric and professional development for school boards
Support changes in licensure
