2 Summary– 5 key thesis / messages
Internationally, building codes are being updated in order to offer enhanced protection against natural hazards and climate risks. This not only makes new buildings more resilient, but also lowers the future cost of climate change mitigation and adaptation for building owners. Cultural, social and governmental aspects of the regions must be consider and adapt when establishing a sustainability strategy in Industrial Assets All stake and shareholders need to be involved in the entire process, meaning that everyone not only knows the strategy but also shares, contributes, and most importantly encourages everyone in their respective organizations to buy-in the Company Sustainability Strategy. Properly applied sustainability initiatives are always cost-effective, and low/no cost BMP can achieve significant economic and environmental savings (improving NOI and IRR). Future improvement of the Sustainability Criteria should be focused on tracking implementation and continued trainings.
