Erwin Schrödinger And His Contributions to the Atomic Theory

2 Erwin Schrödinger was born on August 12, 1887, in Vienna, Austria
Erwin Schrödinger was born on August 12, 1887, in Vienna, Austria. He was born to Rudolf Schrödinger and Georgine Emilia Brenda. AT a later time he entered the University of Vienna, and was mainly focused on physics. AT that time he became strongly influenced by Fritz Hasenöhrl, who was also a young physicist. He graduated from the university and later was drafted to fight in WWI. After returning he married Annemarie Bertel in Soon he went on to work at the University of Zurich, were he was able to create his equation a year later in Later in 1933 he gained the Nobel Peace prize, which he shared with Paul A.M. Dirac. After he worked at multiple different universities, like the University of Graz in Austria. About Schrödinger

3 Quantum Mechanical Model & Wave Equation
While working at the University of Zurich, Erwin Schrödinger formulated his wave equation and quantum mechanical model of the atom. He worked off of Louis de Broglie, and his theory of wave mechanics. Wave mechanics showed that unlike Bohr’s planetary model, electrons actually moved in waves. Schrödinger’s equation was able to use that to figure out the most likely places for an electron to be in an atom at any given moment. This is called the quantum mechanical model.
