1. Sentence Analysis
Can you spot the nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions and articles?
To help drum the parts of speech
into the children I have created a series of Powerpoints: I show a sentence, pick a word and on their small whiteboards they identify what it is. Quick and simple, the kids like it and is easily adapted.

4. Silently the evil wizard cast a mean spell.

5. On the large table, sitting silently, was a huge beetle.

A thing or object

9. Adjective
Describes a noun

10. Describes the verb. Usually ends “ly”.
Adverb
Describes the verb. Usually ends “ly”.

11. Verb
A doing word

12. Article
“The”, “a” or “an”

13. Where something is – in, on, under etc
Preposition
Where something is – in, on, under etc
