Sentence Analysis Can you spot the nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions and articles? To help drum the parts of speech into the children I have created a series of Powerpoints: I show a sentence, pick a word and on their small whiteboards they identify what it is. Quick and simple, the kids like it and is easily adapted.

Describes the verb. Usually ends “ly”.
Adverb Describes the verb. Usually ends “ly”.

Preposition Where something is – in, on, under etc
