2. The Market Revolution
During the late 18th and early 19th century the American economy will be greatly increased by the growth of transportation, new inventions, new production methods and new farming techniques/tools that lead to the “market revolution”.

3. Federal and State governments will invest in the building of roads, railroads and canals linking distant communities to each other. Steam engines began powering trains and ships increasing their speed. This will allow goods to be sold over great distances.

4. Inventors like Eli Whitney will improve how goods are made and how labor is used. In 1793 he invented the cotton gin revolutionizing the cotton industry. He was also one of the first pioneers of using interchangeable parts.

6. Most of this industry was located in the New England and Ohio River Valley area due to its abundant amount of natural resources. The Southern States were also more focused on the growing of cash crops.
