Effective Recruitment in a Challenging Environment
External Competition: In a highly competitive physician market with multiple Hospitals/AMC’s we are often competing for the same physician resource. Competing based on compensation Resources for physicians and programs Often it’s not the salary that drives the discussion, but what can you provide to make them successful High degree of physician movement Established physicians within your practice leave for increased compensation, better resources or a perceived greater sense of value No need to pull up “roots” means change is a less painful to the physician, no need to pull the children from their school Physicians follow valued colleagues
11
Effective Recruitment in a Challenging Environment
Internal Competition Academic Medical Centers often allow competing services making recruitment difficult when physicians want a carve out of services Surgery Ortho ENT Radiology Other CV Cardiology
