(1) Articles from Studio Classroom Oct, 2013 & Mar, 2014 (2) Group Presentations of Four Big American Holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter (3) Basic English Sentence Patterns (4) Sentence-Building Practices (5) Practices for the New Toeic Tests

4 Oral/Written Presentation for Western Holidays
1. The content should cover the following items: (1) The history/origin/meaning of Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas (2) Holiday Activities (3) Food for the Holidays (4) Others (e.g. housing decoration, traditional customs) 2. Written Reports (in English): * 3-4 pages + the cover page (including the topic and your group members) 3. Oral Presentations (in Chinese or English) * with Powerpoint

5 1. The illustration for the relationship of the writing terms:
letter  word  phrase  clause  sentence  paragraph  essay  chapter/ unit  book 2. All sentences have subjects. They also have verbs. The verbs tell: (1) what a subject does: go, play, help, study e.g. My friends helped me. Three kids were playing together. (2) what a subject has, is, or feels: have, is , want e.g. The building is very tall. John was in the room.
