Migration is simply the movement of a large group of organisms from one location to another. Ex. Birds fly south in the winter. Salmon swim upstream to spawn young.

Mostly used for air-breathers (whales, dolphins, seals). Only transmits when animal surfaces to breathe.

10. Pop Up Archival Tags
Used for larger fishes (sharks, tuna, grouper). Preset to pop off after a specific time period and float to the top and transmit collected data.
