Regional PHTC Program Purpose
The purpose of the Regional PHTC is to improve the nation’s public health system by strengthening the technical, scientific, managerial and leadership competencies of the current and future public health workforce. Primary audience: Governmental public health staff Secondary audience: Staff from other parts of the public health system

Role of WRPHTC Develop and implement distance-based trainings
Develop and implement plans to establish or strengthen faculty-student collaborative projects and field placements; Establish and implement strategies to promote and market the work of the Regional PHTC as well as recruit participants for all activities; Enhance collaboration and linkages with other Federal agency programs local, state, Tribal, and national partners as well as the LPSs; Formalize a nationwide PHTC network, and develop and implement cross-cutting public health trainings; Develop policies and implement systems changes to motivate public health workers to participate in trainings and to create a culture of learning within the agencies; Devise and implement an evaluation plan Assist and support the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

Customization and implementation of the online competency and training needs assessment Competency-based training development and dissemination (online, in-person, webinar) AZ TRAIN as a tool to provide online CE programs DecisionSim cases – interactive, case-based learning Graduate MPH students for internship projects
