(1) Knowing:
They know something about Three Gorges such as where it is.
What is it used for? Some of them interested in traveling.
(2) Problems:
They don’t know something more about three Gorges
They can’t get the general meaning of the passage and don’t know how to deal with new words while reading .
(3) Needs:
They need the ways to get the general meaning of the passage and deal with new words

2.Look at some pictures and describe them in English.
3. Saying:
Ok. Today we’ll go on a trip to three gorges with a foreigner and his colleague.

What’s the general meaning of the passage?
How to get the general meaning of passage?
Ways:
1>Look at the pictures and title , they will help you to guess.
2>Skim the passage to find: Who/When/Where/How/ What.
3>Summary those information with one or two sentences.
②Read and skim to find the information .
③Write a sentence about the general idea of the passage.

1. Give them a situation:
Now ,I am a tourist in three gorges and you are a guide(向导) there.
please use three or five sentences to introduce(介绍) it for us
