I.教材分析 : 2.模块教学目标: 3.研究学生需求:
(1)Talk about a trip along the three gorges (2) Use the following Modal Verbs : can , could , should, must, have to (3) Describe geographical features 3.研究学生需求: (1) Knowing: They know something about Three Gorges such as where it is. What is it used for? Some of them interested in traveling. (2) Problems: They don’t know something more about three Gorges They can’t get the general meaning of the passage and don’t know how to deal with new words while reading . (3) Needs: They need the ways to get the general meaning of the passage and deal with new words

III. Teaching Aim of this period :教学目标

X. Teaching Process. Step One :Warming-up When to go ?
1. Asking: Do you like to travel? Whom will you travel with? Where will you go? How will you go? What will you see? 2.Write down these words in the black: Whom to go with? Where to go? How to go? What to do? When to go ?

1.Asking: Have you ever been to three gorges? which three gorges are there? 2.Look at some pictures and describe them in English. 3. Saying: Ok. Today we’ll go on a trip to three gorges with a foreigner and his colleague.

X. Teaching Process. Step Three: Reading. 1.Skimming to find: ①Asking:
What’s the general meaning of the passage? How to get the general meaning of passage? Ways: 1>Look at the pictures and title , they will help you to guess. 2>Skim the passage to find: Who/When/Where/How/ What. 3>Summary those information with one or two sentences. ②Read and skim to find the information . ③Write a sentence about the general idea of the passage. Peter Hessler, a young American teacher, went on a trip along the Three Gorges with his colleague by boat during the Spring Festival in 1997.

X. Teaching Process. Step Three: Reading. 2.Carefully reading.
①Asking: What’s the life along the river? What ‘s the history along the river? What scenery could they see? Ways: 1) Scan the key word “… along the river ”,we could see … 2) Read the sentence and find the answers.

There are much history a long the river Every hill look like a person or animal; Every stream that joins the great river carried it’s legends, Every hill was heavy with the past Scenery of Three gorges: We could see the sun setting behind the white pagoda. .

1.Read the sentences they found loudly. 2. Get them find the new words such as bamboo colleague trade goods hilly legend. 3. Teach the pronunciation for them ①Asking: What’s the meaning of …? How to get the meaning of new words? Guess it’s meaning in the sentences ②Help them to guess these words meaning by choosing the definitions given. 1> A plant which grows quickly and is used to make furniture bamboo 2> To buy and sell thing. Trade 3> Things you can buy or sell. …goods

Tell others your riddles to see if he or she can guess them correctly and quickly English riddles: 1.I am a person I like writing poems. 2.I am an action ,when the sun does this action, that means you can’t see anything . 3.I am a mark or sign ,when you write in Chinese , you use it . 4.I am a Buddhist temple, Big wild goose tower(大雁塔) and small wild goose tower(小雁塔) are my children.

1. Give them a situation: Now ,I am a tourist in three gorges and you are a guide(向导) there. please use three or five sentences to introduce(介绍) it for us 2. Three minutes later ,Check their answers
