Background - Priority Gas corridors
EIP Background - Priority Gas corridors NSI West - North-South gas interconnections in Western Europe: BE, FR, DE, ES, IE, IT, LU, MT, NL, PT, UK NSI East - North-South gas interconnections in Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe: AT, BG, CY, CZ, DE, GR, HU, IT, PL, RO, SK, SI Southern Gas Corridor ("SGC"): AT, BG, CZ, CY, FR , DE, GR, HU, IT, PL, RO, SK, SI Separate Working Group dealing with the selection of PCI in the Southern Gas Corridor: Geographical scope different from NSI East as Czech Republic, France, Germany, Poland and Slovakia are not involved in the NSI East + strong external dimension Baltic Energy Market Interconnection Plan in gas ("BEMIP Gas"): DK, EE, FI, DE, LT, LI, PL, SE

GRI
5
GRI Within GRI projects have different geographical coverage
growing complexity changing requirements for coordination and reporting Bilateral projects: e.g. IT/AT bundled capacity allocation (CAM pilot, participation at PRISMA) a sub-regional bilateral project which is part of a cross-regional project Multilateral sub-regional projects: e.g. CEETR Regional projects: e.g. CAM - coordinated auction in the whole South Gas Region Cross-regional projects: PRISMA Overlapping projects: e.g. market integration projects in SSE: CEETR and proposal for Visegrad 4 project
6
GRIPs regions Based on an analysis of transmission system interconnections and operation, as well as infrastructure development needs, the ENTSOG TSOs agreed on 6 regional groupings, in some cases overlapping, to develop the first GRIPs: North-West: Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Republic of Ireland, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom South: Spain, Portugal, France North-South Central Eastern Europe: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia BEMIP: Estonia, Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden Southern Corridor: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia South-North Corridor: France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland

Conclusions We need to reassess and optimise the structure of all different regional groupings and reassess their usefulness and overlaps This needs to be discussed and coordinated with the Commission and stakeholders
