Social Control Theory I believe that randy kraft fits into the social control theory because at the beginning of his life he was committed to following the rules and had the same beliefs as most of his family members. He grew up in a modest family where crime was not an issue and tried to achieve goals that were socially acceptable like going to college. Even though he was a homosexual, that never stood in the way of his progress. He stayed in contact with his family even after he told them he was a homosexual. Tensions grew with his father over this but in time they got over it. I believe he began to disregard the beliefs he was taught when he was kicked out of the army for being a homosexual. I think this had profound impacts on his life because he was prevented from doing something society deemed alright. After this incident he changed by not caring as much about his senior year at Claremont and not graduating on time. Then he evolved and drugged his first victim and performed sexual acts, which the charges were later dropped. All in all I believe that Randy kraft best fits into the Social Control theory because he completely disregarded all of his belief’s that he was taught at a young age.
