1. Romeo and Juliet/West Side Story Questions Assignment
You will need to write 5 higher level questions (with complete answers) about West Side Story or about the connections between the film and Romeo and Juliet.
Questions can also relate to real world issues that are addressed in the play or the film, such as prejudice, gang activity, etc.
We will use these as the basis for a graded discussion next class, so you must complete them by Friday (periods 1, 3, and 5) or by Monday for period 4.

2. Two Types of Questions
Right There Question – answer is found in the text.
Example: Where does Tony and Maria’s “wedding” take place? DON’T WRITE THESE TYPES OF QUESTIONS FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT.
Higher Level Question – requires thinking about the text or texts and pulling ideas together or making inferences.
Example: Compared to Romeo and Juliet, how does the setting of West Side Story change the focus or mood of the story?
