2 Shot One Description: Daru awakens from a long nap.
Framing: Medium shot. Angle: Slight high angle. Camera Movement: Pans as Daru is getting up from rest. Sounds/Dialogue: diegetic sounds of sheets of a bed and a yawn let out by Daru. Lighting: Natural Editing: Shot begins with a black fade in. Theatrical Elements- Costume: Jellaba Set: School House; Daru’s bedroom. Props: A simple bed Intended Effect: To show Daru waking up. There is a slight smile on his face because he thinks the Arab might be gone. The fade in crates a time lapse for his nap and he wakes up feeling refreshed.

3 Shot Two Description: Daru finds the Arab had not left; instead, he is sleeping. Angle: Eye level Framing: Close up of Daru and Long Shot of the Arab. Camera Movement: None Sounds/Dialogue: A heavy exhale from Daru and heavy breathing from the Arab. Lighting: Natural Editing: None Theatrical Elements- Costume: They both wear a Jellaba Set: School house; Daru’s bedroom Props: A simple bed Intended Effect: To show the Arab sleeping and Daru’s forlorn expression as he finds out the Arab did not escape.

Lighting: Natural Editing: None Theatrical Elements- Costume: They both wear a Jellaba Set: School house; Daru’s bedroom Props: none Intended Effect: Shows Daru’s discord with the Arab; given his agitated facial expression. It also establishes a disconnect between the characters because, the way they interact is not friendly, but shallow.

Angle: neutral Camera Movement: The camera pans with Daru’s finger Sounds/Dialogue: Diegetic sound of Daru telling the Arab to sit down. Lighting: natural Editing: Dissolves from pervious scene. Theatrical Elements- Costume: They both wear a Jellaba Set: school house; dinning room Props: two modest chairs and a simple table Intended Effect: To show the difference in power dynamic between Daru and the Arab.

Lighting: natural Editing: Cross cutting from the finger to the Arab walking to it down. Theatrical Elements- Costume: Jellaba Set: school house; dinning room, Props: Two modest chairs and a table. Intended Effect: to again, exemplify the power dynamic between Daru and the Arab; however in this shot, it illustrated by the camera movements.

Lighting: natural lighting Editing: none Theatrical Elements- Costume: They both wear a Jellaba Set: school house; dinning room Props: table and two chairs Intended Effect: This shows Daru trying to reduce some of the awkwardness between the Arab and himself, by extending a friendly gesture of offering a meal.

8 Shot Seven Description: Daru sets the table for the meal as the Arab looks on. Framing: Close-up of Daru’s hand as well as an upper body shot of the Arab. Angle: eye level Camera Movement: None Sounds/Dialogue: The diegetic sound of silverware and the sound it made hitting the table. Lighting: Natural Editing: A dissolve from the previous shot opens to Daru setting the table. Theatrical Elements: Costume They both wear a Jellaba : Set: School-house; dining room Props: Two forks, two spoons, two knives, a napkin, a table, and one chair. Intended Effect: This shows the awkward relationship between Daru and the Arab because there is no dialogue between them. The silverware hitting the table as the only sound, creates awkwardness

Framing: There is a long shot of Daru and the setting. Angle: Slight high angle Camera Movement: None Sounds/Dialogue: Sizzling oil in a frying pan, cooking sounds. Lighting: High key lighting Editing: A dissolve between the last shot and this one, showing a correlation between setting the table and cooking. Theatrical Elements- Costume: They both wear a Jellaba Set: School-house; kitchen Props: Cabinets, stove, frying pan, one chair, one set of silverware, napkin and a table. Intended Effect: The high key lighting shows Daru’s honorable gesture and his genuine, non- judgmental personality.

Framing: Long shot Angle: eye level Camera Movement: None Sounds/Dialogue: The diegetic sound of the plate hitting the wood. Lighting: Natural Editing: A fade of black from the last scene up to this Theatrical Elements- Costume: They both wear a Jellaba Set: School-house; dining room Props: Two sets of silverware, two chairs, two napkins, and a cake Intended Effect: Shows Daru’s kind actions to feed the Arab, highlights the awkward tension between them, by the lack of dialogue, between the characters and the over-amplification of diegetic sounds.

11 Shot Ten Description: Daru goes to the next room to put the revolver in the armoire Framing: Long shot Angle: Eye level Camera Movement: None Sounds/Dialogue: A non-diegetic sound of the low humming music Lighting: Low key Editing: The last shot dissolves into this one Theatrical Elements- Costume: Jellaba Set: School-house; classroom Props: Armoire Intended Effect: The first appearance of low key lighting in this scene, suggests that Daru is up to something and the fact that the armoire is the only prop in the room, suggests that there is a correlation.

12 Shot Eleven Description: Daru takes the revolver and places it in the armoire Framing: Medium shot Angle: Eye Level Camera Movement: Zooms in on the wardrobe as he opens the doors. Sounds/Dialogue: The diegetic creaking hinges on the doors and non-diegetic sound of the low, humming music. Lighting: Low key Editing: None Theatrical Elements- Costume: Jellaba Set: School-house; classroom Props: A revolver and an armoire Intended Effect: This use of low key lighting and diegetic sound could suggest how Daru feels about weapons because he treats it in a manner of discontent.

13 Shot Twelve Description: Daru serves the meal Framing: Medium shot
Angle: Eye level Camera Movement: None Sounds/Dialogue: Diegetic sound of the Arab asking Daru if he would join him and Daru said, “later.” Lighting: Natural Editing: There is a cross-cutting between the last shot and this one. Theatrical Elements- Costume: They both wear a Jellaba Set: School-house; dining room Props: Cake, butcher knife, two sets of silverware, two napkins a table and two chairs. Intended Effect: The fact that that Daru is serving the meal, he is not sitting down in the chair. It has remained empty throughout the scene which shows his conservative attitude towards the Arab.
