Tinney Times Reminders Upcoming Events Upcoming Tests
Week of: November 28 – December 2 Upcoming Events December 5-December 9: Santa’s Secret Shop December 6: Santa’s Secret Shop Late night December 13: Santa Pictures December 14: Writing Contest Dercember15: Terrific Kid December 16: Christmas Concert at Chalmette High December 22-January 2: Christmas Holidays In the classroom this week Math: This week in Math, will continue to cover area. They will be able to understand area as a plane figure, decompose and recompose shapes to compare area, and use pattern blocks to determine the amount of space within a region. We will also be taking our first test on Area. ELA: This week in ELA, we will be focusing on Comparing and Contrasting Science: This week in Social Studies, we will begin our two week unit on People, Land, and Environment. During this unit, students will learn about early settlers and patterns of immigration to Louisiana, impacted by the geography. Tinney Times I hope everyone was able to enjoy family time over the Thanksgiving holiday, I know I did. I am so happy that we were able to end our week before the break with Louisiana Culture Day. The kids loved all of the different centers. They also truly enjoyed the jazz band. Please have your child read ARP books at home during their 20 minutes of reading. Remember, if an ARP book is read at home, they can take the test on it when they get to school. As of this morning, our class has a combined total of ARP points. Reminder: IXL Extra Credit has been being sent home every week. Please have your child complete the assigned sections and initial next to it in order for them to receive an extra A in each subject. The students can also earn extra credit in ELA by reaching their assigned about of time on Lexia each week.
