3 Credit Risk Skills Workshop
Overview This report has been produced following the successful launch of the Credit Risk Skills workshop run between the 24th and 25th of January 2017 for X Bank which took place at their Bristol office The aim of the workshop was to help raise the standard of credit analysis within the Relationship Manager population Five delegates were chosen, by X Bank, to attend the inaugural workshop, each with differing experiences of and time within the banking sector The workshop was preceded by a pre course activity All five delegates attended the two day workshop Page 2 of 21

The main areas of concern within the proposition? What additional documentation they would like to see? Their analysis of the financial accounts? Debt service, supporting comments with calculations? What further information they would like? What they would like to cover on the workshop? Page 3 of 21

6 Summary Results Feedback
Prior to the end of the workshop on day two, the five delegates were asked to provide their feedback on the pre course activity, the workshop content, the relevance of the content to their role and whether the workshop would benefit them [and colleagues] in their current and future roles Questions 1 to 8 asked for a score of between 1 to 10 where 1 is considered “Poor” and 10 is considered “Excellent” The following is a summary of the ten questions asked of the delegates: Page 5 of 21

Q1. I felt the pre course work was useful and helpful to my learning? Most comments were positive though it was suggested that it may have been more useful to use a case study that represented the types of businesses favoured by X Bank Comments included: “I thought it was good; thought provoking and made me recall past training …” “a real life example of X customers … would have been helpful” Page 6 of 21

8 9.4 Summary Results Average Score
Q2.I was actively engaged and encouraged to participate and share my opinion? Q4. I found the training logical and easy to follow? Mostly comments were positive though it was suggested that there was a lot of content which was difficult to cover, at the depth required, over just two days Comments included: “Evan explained things well and was happy to expand upon things when questioned” “I felt there was a lot of content for 2 days and some a little rushed through but great on the whole” Page 9 of 21

11 9.2 Summary Results Average Score
Q5. I was given ample opportunity to demonstrate my knowledge and [newly learnt] skills? Very positive scores though very few comments Comments included: “The work book activities were good” Page 10 of 21

Q10. The course could be improved by: Comments included: “Some slightly more relevant examples of typical X businesses + less of what we don’t do” “Three days would be more beneficial” Page 15 of 21

17 Credit Risk Skills Workshop
Conclusion With each question achieving an average score greater than 8 out of 10 [range 8.2 : 9.8] and with substantially positive comments, it would appear that this inaugural workshop has been a tremendous success The five delegates now need to be given the time and opportunity to put their new learning into practice to ensure that they embed that learning quickly Page 16 of 21

18 Recommendations A follow up review with the five delegates at the end of February 2017 to gain their feedback on whether they have since had an opportunity to use the analysis skills covered during the workshop and whether they have received any positive comments from Credit Offer the workshop to additional Relationship Managers within X Bank, regardless of experience Use a case study throughout the training that is more in line with the type of business that is viewed favourably by X Bank Anecdotal feedback from the delegates suggested that a more detailed workbook would be helpful Consider moving to a three day workshop Page 17 of 21
