Assignment Digit and Buffer
Problem 1: Please draw the Tainan city map which is already clipped in RAR file. We use both disaster information and street map to generate a spatial attribute disaster map. (1) All data are download from PTT and News by python data mining. Please figure effective information and point out on the map as “point” format. (2) All buildings which has disaster events need to transfer them on the map as “shp” format.
40
Assignment Digit and Buffer
Problem 2: Please use Problem 1 concept to estimate top 10 disaster potential regions by buffer analysis in Xinyi District(five villages), Taipei. According to literature, the correlation of height of building and the disaster potential radius can be described as their height. Hint: Please download the Taipei3DBuildings.kmz, and transform that file into shapefile in ArcMap. First, you need to load the kmz file and transform that data format(refer to Appendix 1). Second, extract the top 10 height buildings by any methods, and utilize their height as the radius of buffer region. (1) Please list top 10 buildings’ ID. (2) Are there any two buffer zones overlap? If yes, please list them! (3) Where is the most dangerous zone? And why?
41
Assignment Appendix 1 How to transform kmz to kml with ArcMap?
Today, we face a complicated problem because this dataset belongs to nested data which can be separated into different individual files by your hand(although I think there will be a smart method, I don’t know yet!). Please select every villages filename and save as to your working dictionary. Then, open ArcMap and use the “KML To Layer” under Conversion Tools/From KML. Top form: file source Middle form: working dictionary Bottom form: filename Over and continue …
