2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami
On March 11, 2011, a magnitude-9 earthquake shook northeastern Japan, unleashing a tsunami.
The number of confirmed deaths is 15,891 as of April 10, 2015, according to Japan's National Police Agency. Most people died by drowning.
More than 2,500 people are still reported missing.

The Fukushima Daiichi power plant had not been built to withstand such high waves and this resulted in a cooling system failure, followed by a nuclear reactor meltdown and the release of radioactive materials. Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) said 45 metric tons of radioactive water had been released into the ocean.
In the year following, Japan was hit by over 5,000 aftershocks. IT WAS SO POWERFUL, THAT IT shifted Earth on its axis of rotation AND caused the coastline of Honshu, to drop by two feet, and moved the main island of Honshu east by eight feet.

The cost of the earthquake and tsunami is still ongoing to some extent. It is believed to have been the most expensive disaster in history, so far amounting to an estimated $300bn (£212bn). Further to this, 45,700 buildings and 230,000 vehicles were destroyed.
Farms, factories, roads, railways and electricity lines were destroyed, while almost half a million people have been made homeless. Despite the destruction, many Japanese people hope the reconstruction effort might turn out to help the Japanese economy.

Both during and after the earthquake, many aids and funding projects appeared to help those within japan to receive funding for new buildings and also to go towards homeless shelters.
Popular examples of aids that helped the tohoku earthquake that interested me were: American rock band, my chemical romance released a “sing it for japan” single with all proceeds going to the japan aid and also the “Show your heart” fund founded by Japanese singer gackt. These lead me to care about the event.

The Internet is generally defined as a global network connecting millions of computers. 
According to Internet Live Stats, as of August 12th 2016 there was an estimated 3,432,809,100 Internet users worldwide.
The number of Internet users represents nearly 40 percent of the world's population.
Nearly anything is possible on the internet, with billions of new things to be discovered
It’s one of the biggest technological advances and is one of the main ways that people communicate in modern day

7. Technology innovation I embraced
Internet
The internet has brought many people together, which is one of the main reasons why I embrace it to this day.
if not for the internet, we wouldn’t be able to find friends from all over to share interests or communication with, we wouldn’t be able to find new medias and passions, or learn the latest news updates from all over the world in such a short amount of time.

8. My personal media
Developed a company called hammer & Chisel, discord is one of the biggest platforms in which pc gamers can chat and communicate online.
The service was popularized by eSports and LAN tournament gamers.
There are over 25 million users on the platform.
This app has become the main thing I use to communicate with my friends, as it allows us to create private servers and channels where we can both text and voice chat to one another whilst playing games or just for fun.
