She taught psychology at Jadavpur University, Kolkata for many years.
They had two kids, a daughter Tejaswani.  She has a Ph.D. in Nutrition from the Pennsylvania State University and works as a Professor in the Dietetics and Nutrition department at the SUNY College, Buffalo.
Their son is an electrical engineer and computer scientist nad has a computer consultancy.

His most well known discoveris are the Cramer-Rao bound and the Rao-Blackweillization that is used in estimation.
His tests led to contributions in many things such as strategic significance to signal detection.
