3. ALI‘s Editing and Writing System
Some of the greatest errors in drafts of all forms come from a lack of knowledge of the normalized language frameworks within a genre or discipline. Yet others come from a missing piece of the core content which goes beyond the proofreading task. The role of the ALI Editor and Writer is to empathize with the author regarding language and find the best solution that fits the author’s goals, as well as help the author to learn to better write and think. This begins with conceptualizing the draft within the selected genre or discipline and repairing or creating content as necessary to meet the goals shared between editor and author. The editing and writing support ALI offers is that all our revisions are: 1)corrective and 2)formative for the original author, and 3)through the dialogic approach both editor and author will together shape the best writings possible.

4. ALI‘s Evaluation System
It’s not brain science (although we do work with brain scientists). Our editing staff utilize Instant Messaging, Video Conferencing, and Data Sharing across devices and between experts to create a communicative bond between clients, projects, and the ALI team. Having reviewers in the content area with specialist language knowledge provides better draft revisions than having one of the two. It also gives key insights to our clients of their work from multiple angles and is an opportunity for Editors and Writers to network directly with experts.
