2 Industrial Revolution
IR refers to increased output of machine-made goods that began in England in 1700s Before IR, textiles were woven by hand-machines started to do this and other jobs England made up of small farms-began to be bought up by large landowners who improved farming methods

3 Agricultural Revolution
Large fields of landowners (enclosures)-experimentation with seeding and harvesting to boost crop production Jethro Tull-no more scattering seed Creation of seed drill that sowed seeds in well-spaced rows at specific depths More seeds took root=more crops

5 Crop Rotation Based on three-field system
Start with crop that exhausted soil nutrients (wheat) followed by one that restored nutrients (turnips) Improvement of livestock by only allowing best sheep to breed Living conditions improved and population increased Small farmers lost land and sale to big farmers-became factory workers

7 Why IR Began in England Industrialization is machine production of goods-England had a lot of useful resources Had expanding economy and good banking system Military success that led to a positive attitude Britain contained all factors of production to make industrialization happen Land, labor, and capital (wealth)
