Contrastive Analysis Between Monolingual and Bilingual Kindergarten Students Ramona Benítez Carbajal Centro de Idiomas Extanjeros: “Ignacio Manuel Altamirano” During two weeks, I will administer speaking activities and elicit responses in English from the students and make a comparison between monolingual and bilingual students´ comprehension levels. I will have 2 groups of five students and in each group I will conduct the same activities. Chilapa de Álvarez is a sociocultural and socioeconomic center where kids grow up as bilingual and monolingual speakers, but their socio-demographic background influences their English Learning Will bilingual or monolingual students learn to speak English at an accelerated rate? Method: In the study I will use a variety of games to elicit responses which I will record in my field journal. Site: Kindergarten in Chilapa de Álvarez Participants: 10 students The results will be analyzed using dot chart graphics according to the curriculum standards in the learning process of the students. Anticipated results: Bilingual students will learn English at a higher accelerated rate than monolingual learners.
