Purpose The purpose of the McKay Scholarship Program is to expand
educational opportunities for students with disabilities.

Provisions Parents of public school students with disabilities may…
remain at the present public school. transfer to another public school in their district or in an adjacent district. transfer to a participating private school.

Provisions The state will provide a scholarship to the parents to cover the costs of… enrollment fees regular tuition and fees any additional costs for special needs services

Individual scholarship payments may not exceed the total average cost
Provisions Approximately $6,000 Individual scholarship payments may not exceed the total average cost for educating a Florida public school student.

~ Parents ~ Requirements for Participation
Submit a letter of intent to the public school district. Enroll in another public school or a private school. Follow all requirements of the selected school. Pay tuition beyond scholarship.

~ Schools ~ Requirements for Participation
Submit application for approval. Be fiscally sound. Follow all laws pertaining to private schools.
