How will an increased ultraviolet light effect the growth of a nasturtium seed?

2. Research Predictions
We predict that the ultraviolet will effect the nasturtium seeds in a negative way; also that the nasturtium seeds with increased ultraviolet light will grow two inches less than the control nasturtium seeds.

3. Experimental Design
1. We had eighteen pots filled with six nasturtium seeds per pot. One tub of nine pots was placed near the window to maximize the amount of sunlight, while the other tub of nine pots was placed away from any contact with the sun and is exposed to only UV lamp light. 2. We watered both plants with 10mL per hole in the pot, every other day. 3. We recorded the growth of the nasturtium and the leaves growth and posted any progress that was made.

10. Conclusion
Our prediction for this experiment was wrong. The clover, or nasturtium, grew toward the light, something we did not take under consideration; this may have led to more growth in the UV light plants. The controlled plants actually grow 5cm less than the UV lighted plants. The growth of the seeds seemed to be based on the distance from the light and how often they were exposed to it.
