2 Introduction Every artist dream is winning a Grammy. Many are nominated but few actually win. Ella Fitzgerald & Beyonce are two Black artist that broke racial barriers with winning over 10 Grammys each.

3 Ella Fitzgerald Time Period- Jazz Age
Early Life- Born in Newport News , Virginia. Moved to Yonkers, New York after her moms death Later Life- got married to a convicted drug dealer named Benny Kornegay in 1941 In 1986 she got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes.

4 First Lady of Song Ella was an American Jazz song vocalist.
She had a vocal range spanning from tree octaves (Db3 to Db6) In 1935 she became singing lead for Webbs Orchestra until Webb died in 1939 and it became Ella and her Famous Orchestra. In 1942 e went solo and signed to the Decca Label In 1954 left Decca and formed her own label called Verve with her manager , 11 years later the label was sold to MGM for 3 million dollars and 4 years after that MGM failed to renew her contract

Won Best Female Vocal Performance for “the Irving Berlin Songbook” Won 13 Grammys in total In 1965 Received the first ASCAP award in recognition of an artist In 1988 won the NAACP Image Award for Lifetime Achievement

7 Beyonce Time Period- 1997- Present Day
Early Life Born in Houston, Texas Formed Destiny's Child when she was just 10 years old with 3 of her best friends Kelly , LaToya & Latavia After selling over 50 million records with Destinys Child , Beyonce went solo and sold over 75 million records.

8 Albums Beyoncé released her debut album Dangerously In Love in 2003 that sold 317,000 copies its first week. her second album B`Day was released in 2006 which sold 541,000 copies its first week Her third album I Am … Sasha Fierce was released in 2008 which sold 482,000 copies its first week Her fourth album 4 was released in 2011 which sold 310,000 copies its first week after it was leaked 3 weeks prior to its release . All 4 of her albums went number one and she is the third artist to get 4 number one albums consecutively Last week Beyonce began working of the A Star Is Born soundtrack and her new album .

14 Conclusion With a lot of success comes a lot of negativity, people don’t want to see others achieve third goals but you have to really fight for what you want . Ella and Beyonce both fought to have accomplish what they did , they both are inspirations to young acts of today.
