“…of all that Jesus began to do and teach” (Acts 1:1) The greatest event in human history was: THE INCARNATION.

“…This same Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11) The greatest event in the future will be: THE CONSUMMATION.

Evangelicals emphasize the reception of the Holy Spirit at conversion. Evangelicals take their theology from Paul. Pentecostals take their theology from Luke.

Who is correct? Paul or Luke? The answer is Both. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit AND The empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

*Not to save or sanctify us *Not to make us ready for Heaven *Not so we can have an emotional experience *Not so we can speak with tongues *Not so we can be elite

What then is the Purpose of Pentecost? = It is Participation with the Holy Spirit in the continuation of the activity of the Lord Jesus Christ. = It is living out the theology of Paul, Luke, & John. (14:16, 26-27; 15:26; 16:7)
