For this Man works many signs.
John 11:47-52 “Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, ‘What shall we do? For this Man works many signs. If we let Him alone like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and nation.’ Next Slide

And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them,
‘You know nothing at all, nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish.’ Next Slide
10
Now this he did not say on his own authority; but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, and not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad.” Comment in NOTES

15
‘Throw it to the potter’ -that princely price they set on me.
And the LORD said to me, ‘Throw it to the potter’ -that princely price they set on me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD for the potter.”

“Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread arrived,
Luke 22:7 “Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread arrived, when the Passover lamb is sacrificed.”

“Then the day came when the pass-over was to be killed.
This involves a perplexing question for some people. We need to remember that the Jews’ day began at sunset, and it was after sunset on the fourteenth of Nisan that the Lord kept the pass-over with His disciples.
20
Before the next sunset, that is,
in the afternoon of the day following, our Lord Himself died on the cross. So He kept the Passover on the first evening of the appointed day, and He Himself suffered and died as the true Passover before the next evening. According to the Jews’ reckoning, therefore, both events took place on the one day.” H. A. Ironside

“Jesus sent Peter and John ahead and said,
Luke 22:8-13 “Jesus sent Peter and John ahead and said, “Go and prepare the Passover meal, so we can eat it together.” Where do you want us to prepare it?” they asked Him. He replied, “As soon as you enter Jerusalem, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him. Next Slide

At the house he enters, say to the owner,
The Teacher asks: ‘Where is the guest room where I can eat the Passover meal with My disciples?’ He will take you upstairs to a large room that is already set up. That is where you should prepare our meal.” Next Slide

Luke 22:13 They went off to the city and found everything just as Jesus had said, and they prepared the Passover meal there.” Comments in NOTES

He reclined at table, and the apostles with Him.
Luke 22:14-16 “And when the hour came, He reclined at table, and the apostles with Him. And He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” Comments in NOTES

Jeremiah 31:31-33 "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah- 32 "not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, Next Slide

the indwelling Spirit.”
“The New Covenant provided for the regeneration of the Israelite nation and the Holy Spirit’s indwelling individuals in the nation. And He took a cup, and when He had given thanks He said,
Luke 22:17-20 And He took a cup, and when He had given thanks He said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” Comments in NOTES
29
“God had not commanded them to use the fruit of the vine in the
pass-over, but this was a custom that had been practised for many centuries, and the Lord recognized this and accepted it. He Himself did not drink of it, for the fruit of the vine speaks of joy and gladness.
