Troubleshooting Steps
SECTION 8 - Ethernet Troubleshooting 1. Verify Direct Ethernet Communication 2. Verify ESTeem Configuration 3. Check Antenna and Cable (SWR) 4. Measure Receive Signal Strength 5. Conduct Network Diagnostics The first consideration is to verify that there is RS-232 communication. Next is to verify the ESTeem commands are correct for the application that is being utilized. Then the swr needs to be tested, start at the modem end first. If there is a bad reading on the swr, then attach the bird meter to the antenna end to verify if the cable is bad or the antenna is. Then the signal strength needs to measured. Finally conduct a polling diagnostic test.
