Invertebrates and Vertebrates

Invertebrates Sponge reproduction: They can reproduce sexually and asexually. When sponges reproduce sexually, a sponge releases sperm in hope that it will land on another sponge and fertilize the egg. In asexual way, on the side of a parent sponge grow a new one, this process called budding. Later on when parent sponge dies the new sponge will be released in the water. It will exactly the same as parent. Young: when the young sponge is born later it develops into larva. Their parents don’t give a lot of attention to they raise, they make sure that young sponge lives in a good water condition.

Invertebrates Squid Squid reproduce when the male squid produces a long tube called spermataphores. These spermataphores are filled with millions of sperm. These tubes are deposited in or on the female by a modified arm, that most squid species have. The spermataphore cluster is implanted on the head of the female. Young Squids Parents don’t usually care about their young, they just leave them To fend themselves, like turtles do.

Squids Embryo Development

Differences 1. sponges have two types of reproduction and to ways for a child to be born. Squid has only one. 2. they both don’t care after their children. 3. live underwater.

Vertebrates Snow Leopard
Reproduction: They reproduce sexually. Female and male mate with each other and later female leopard give a birth to a cub. Young After the young leopard is born his mother teaches his the basic survival skills, like climbing trees and hunting other animals. After leopard reaches adult age his mother leaves him. They sleep, eat food, drink water and all thing that mammals do to grow and survive.

Vertebrates Flamingo Reproduction:
Since they are mammals they reproduce sexually. Male and female flamingo mate with each other and later on female gives birth to chicks. Young: Parents look after their chicks to protect them in their nest. They feed them with mixed food like all other birds and mother feeds them with milk. to not lost their chicks, parents can differ other chicks by voice and color. Eventually weeks later parents leave them, at that time chicks already know how to walk. After 11 weeks chicks grow their first feathers and learn how to fly later. Their original color is white or gray, but years later they turn pink.

Vertebrates Clown Fish
Reproduction: Clownfish is a salt water fish, male does some rituals to attracts female. Later when he builds a nest. They mate and female lays eggs in the nest. Parents live in a coral and t he nest is nearby. Young Female don’t actually care after their babies but the male do. He guards eggs for six to ten days, until they hatch. Very unusual fact about clown fishes is that sequential hermaphrodites which means they are born as a male but eventually turn into female.

Differences They are all mammals, parents care after their babies for a while but eventually leave them. Snow leopard teach theirs cubs how to survive like flamingo except clown fish. Snow leopard gives birth to a cub, like flamingo except chicks. Clown fish lays eggs. Their Embryo development looks alike.
