Vu Thai Ha, Nguyen Sy Hoa,Tran Hau Khang, Nguyen Huu Sau The National Hospital of Dermatology-vietnam Corresponding Author: Nguyen Huu sau. address of Corresponding author: Abstract: The cross sectional study design was applied based on the data of 856 patients with skin cancers who were checked up and treated at the National Dermatology Hospital. Results: During preriod of January, December, 2010, there were 856 patients with skin cancers. 58,8% of patients with basal cell carcinoma, 32,2% of patients with squamous cell carcinoma, 4,8% of patients with malignant melanoma and 4,2% of patients with other skin cancers. Number of patients in 2010 was 2.5 times higher than that in Male/ female ratio was 1, % of patients are over 60 years old and 61 % of them lives in rural areas. Conclusion: The number of patients with skin cancers at the National Hospital of Dermatology was increased in recent years. The basal cell carcinoma was the most common skin cancer. Most of patients are over 60 years old and lives in rural area. The pathology was more frequent in female Key words: Skin cancer,basal cell carcinoma, Squamous cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma . Introduction Skin cancer includes many different types. The three types most common are carcinoma basal cell, carcinoma squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. In Vietnam, in recent years, the situation rapidly increasing skin cancer.In Hanoi from , the incidence of skin cancer is / of population . In Ho Chi Minh City, in 1997, the skin cancer ranked eighth in the 10 most common cancers. Objective: To study the skin cancers at the National Hospital of Dermatology and venereology. Number of patients with BCC is the highest (58.8%).
