2. Dismissal Procedures
Regular Dismissal: will begin Tuesday August 22 by the basketball court.
Students will not be released to anyone who is not listed on contact card.
*If a sibling in the middle/high will be picking up your child, PLEASE send a letter notifying the school.
Parents and or siblings will need to make the line in order to pick up your child. Your child will not be released if you do not make the line.

3. Please see Ms. Esther about Aftercare services before the first day.
Important Reminders:
School Hours: Before care7:00-8:15 a.m. Students not in before care will be allowed to enter the school at 7:50 am for breakfast, otherwise drop off is at 8:15 am. Aftercare is from 3:00-6:30 p.m.

4. Parent Portal Instructions are on the IMater Website.
Parent Volunteers: Must be cleared by the MDCPS in order to participate in any school activities.

Parent volunteer hours are 30 per student. All donations MUST have a receipt.

5. Other Reminders:
Faculty parking is only for Faculty, Please use visitor parking.
Birthday Parties will be celebrated once a month. Please me if you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday. Celebrations will be held at lunch time in the cafeteria. (monthly schedule will be provided)

6. SATs SATs will take place on the week of April 4th-10th 2018.
Please do not schedule anything around these dates.

7. Classroom Procedures
In this class, students will be given instruction in Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies
Students have the responsibility of writing their homework daily in their agenda. (Homework will be posted on my site for the first two months only).
Weekly test include; Vocabulary, Spelling and Reading. Vocabulary and Spelling words will be given every Monday.
Every day students are to turn in the assigned vocabulary map. A template will be provided on the first day of school. This is a guide, PLEASE do not write on it.
Students will take a test after each chapter. (math)
Two weekly assessments (math)
There is a Science Fee of $5.00 please turn in by September 15, 2017.

8. Home Learning
Students will be given home learning daily. Assignments will never be unfamiliar.
Home Learning should be done by the student.
After (3) missing assignments, students will be issued a detention.
Daily homework will be found in the agenda (mandatory)
Students will be assigned unit projects for Science.

10. Curriculum
New programs: Our students will be using many online programs as well as curriculum driven text.
Reading Across the curriculum: Our curriculum focuses on reading skills and strives to use these strategies in every subject.

11. I-Ready I-Ready has taken the place of I-Station.
I-Ready will be a weekly requirement for homework.
Grading criteria for I-Ready is as follows:
45 minutes or more 100%
30-44 minutes 70%
15-29 minutes 60%
0-14 minutes 0%
I-ready week begins Sunday and ends Saturday at 11:59 p.m

12. Grading Criteria Grading Scale has changed to the following: Test 40%
Quizzes 20%
Homework, Projects, Oral Presentations 20%
Classwork 20%

13. Dress Code Students need to be in complete uniform daily.
Uniform will be enforced from Day 1.
On Friday, students may wear their spirit shirt (yellow), jeans and sneakers of their choice for $1.00.
Spirit shirts may be purchased in the main office for $10.00.
Students can wear their spirit shirt with uniform bottom and uniform shoes for free.
