GRADING Since this is a level course, 60% of your overall grade will be summative assessments (tests, projects and certain labs) and 40% of the grade will be formative assessments (quizzes, homework, daily works). Per District’s policy, I will not assign or accept extra credit work. I will update grades weekly in Skyward so please feel free to check your child’s grades every week.
6
ABSENCES Absences are not expected on test days or lab days. In the event of absences due to school business, trips, religious holidays, etc., arrangements for assignments should be made prior to the function. It is the STUDENT’S responsibility to make up all work missed due to absences whether the absence was excused or not.
7
ABSENCES The number of days allowed for makeup work will equal the number of days absent. LABS, TESTS, AND QUIZZES MUST BE MADE UP DURING TUTORIALS. Please me in case you need some make up work sent to you.
8
MAKEUP WORK It is the philosophy of the district to provide opportunities for students to demonstrate mastery in the classroom. Students will be provided a reasonable opportunity to redo an assignment or retake a test for which they receive a failing grade. The highest grade a student can earn on any subsequent attempt will be a 70%.
9
MAKEUP WORK Missing work due to absence: Students have a period of time equal to the length of the absence to turn in makeup work for full credit, according to student handbook policy. For example, if a student is absent two days then the student will have two days to make up the missed work.
10
LATE WORK POLICY Students are expected to complete all assignments on time and to the best of their ability. Grades on major assignments that are not submitted during the class period in which they are due are reduced by up to ten points per day for three school days.
11
LATE WORK POLICY We will follow the school policy on late work. Students turning their assignments in on time will be awarded the maximum possible credit. Here is the school policy on late work: One day late – maximum grade of 70% Two days late – maximum grade of 60% Three days late – maximum grade of 50% Four days late – maximum grade of 40% You will not be allowed to get credit for work turned in more than four days late.

Each group will need to select one person to be their picturist for the first safety rule. The picturist is the person who attempts to illustrate the word using the marker and paper. Everyone else on the team will try to guess the word that the picturist draws. Players on the team will take turns acting as the picturist.
