What is LEDA? 1 LEDA identifies and recruits exceptional public high school students from diverse backgrounds across the United States We help our LEDA Scholars gain admission to highly selective institutions, and we make a long- term commitment to providing the support, guidance and community they need to flourish and become the next generation of leaders (aka, #LEDA4Life) "LEDA taught me that while my circumstances were a part of who I was, they did not have to limit my opportunity. 3 Leadership Development Over 100 hours of leadership seminars Student-centered, discussion-based classes Investigating some of the toughest ethical and policy issues leaders face in the 21st Century Standardized Test Preparation Over 50 hours of ACT or SAT prep with tutors from Advantage Testing Four full-length practice exams

4 College Writing Prepares Scholars to write at the level expected at selective colleges and universities Weekly one-on-one writing meetings LEDA Writing Instructors are current or former faculty at selective colleges or universities Support for college admissions essays

5 Residential Life Creates a supportive community Prepares Scholars for living on a college campus Community events: academic games, teambuilding activities, information sessions Informal recreational time Personal and academic support

Summer activities include:
College Guidance 6 One-on-one counseling, starting in the summer and through the end of senior year Developing a college list based on “best fit” Support applying for financial aid, scholarships, fee waivers, and fly-outs Personalized letters of recommendation Individual calls/ s to admissions officers Summer activities include: College visits Information sessions College fairs

2016 College Admission Highlights
98% admitted to at least one “Most Competitive” school* 58% admitted to at least one Ivy League/MIT/Stanford Received more than 340 acceptances from 75 top colleges 100% received financial aid packages from the schools where they were admitted *as classified by Barron’s Profiles of American Colleges

About Our Scholars 10 Each year, LEDA admits 100 high school juniors from across the nation to attend the Aspects of Leadership Summer Institute at Princeton University LEDA Scholars have come from 48 states so far 82% have enrolled in a “Most Competitive” college 66% are first-generation college students 100% receive institutional financial aid The LEDA Community is ethnically diverse Asian/Pacific Islander Black Latinx Multiracial Native American White 15% 30% 35% 8% 3% 9%
