1 HORIZON INITIATIVE: CHAMBERS 2025

2 Eight Influences Shaping the Next Decade
The Nature of Belonging and Gathering: will business decision-makers continue to invest in communities by joining chambers and allowing their employees to engage? Communications and Technology: as companies design the tools to capture and implement findings from traditional constituencies, they also have an opportunity to build robust feedback loops… Scarcity and Abundance: crises caused by shortages or over-supply will undoubtedly affect communities, and therefore chambers, during the next 10 years and beyond Global Impacts: the world is composed of regions, cities, communities and neighborhoods, each with a meaningful role to play on the new international stage.

3 Eight Influences Shaping the Next Decade
Population Shift: the inevitability of demographic change in North America, related to race/ethnicity and to generational transition, will significantly affect chambers of commerce… Political and Social Fragmentation: political and social polarization can be overwhelming and sometime indecipherable… Resource Alignment: a philosophical shift is occurring as we work to keep our chambers strong and profitable… Catalytic Leadership: leadership is not something that just happens.
