National Health Knowledge Network
Commitment within Enabling Partnerships - “Building a knowledge-based organisational culture.” Representatives of healthcare organisations: Work together to implement and further develop the KM strategy – locally and nationally. Define and implement common standards for knowledge management – growing out of QAF standards.

Convening National Health Knowledge Network
Chair identified Letter from NES CEO and Chair to NHS Board CEOs – nomination at senior strategic level to take Chief Knowledge Officer role. Emphasis on knowledge management as: Getting best value out of existing resources, tools and processes. Improving quality and outcomes through knowledge.

Implications for Librarian network
Applying foundational skills and knowledge to demonstrate value in new context: Achieving efficiency and best value Improving quality and outcomes – link with Quality Strategy Leading and facilitating role in knowledge management strategy – gaining and retaining partner and senior-level involvement.
