Organisation of the course (54 h.)
3 modules (18 hours each): I. Foundations of CSR (MGSE MAN 4804) II. Is the digital economy responsible? (MGSE MAN 4805) III. Business ethics (MGSE MAN 4806)

Questions addressed in the course
When does CSR come from? Is it mere marketing or can it foster sustainable changes in companies? How is it exercised in the digital era? How can business ethics trigger sustainability changes in companies?

Learning goals Enable TEM students to understand CSR issues and how organisations put CSR in practice. Explain why CSR can be useful to foster sustainable changes in organisations and societies. Discuss the limits of CSR as well as alternative strategies for firms and human societies.

Evaluation Each module ends with a 90 minutes exam (questions).
The three modules are given the same weight in the final grade. Students can give voluntary presentations and gain extra points on their final grade.

What is CSR? Historical perspective Methods, tools, and policies Actors and business models Managing diversity Carriers in CSR (+ exam)

II. Is the digital economy responsible? (18 h.)
The issues at stake The social responsibilities of digital companies The ecological impacts of information technologies Green IT Policies and norms Topical controversies in green ICTs (+ exam)

III. Business ethics (18 h.)
Why does business ethics matter? History of business ethics Individuals’ responses to ethical issues Organisational responses to ethical issues The international context The European context (+ exam)
