Objectives:: Students will identify fractions in simplest form and find the simplest form of a fraction Students will learn and use correct academic vocabulary Students will think, pair, and share to explain how to solve problems

Vocabulary: Factors numbers you can multiply together to get another number (Example: 4 and 2 are factors of 8, because 4×2= 8. )

Simplest Form When the only common factor of the numerator and denominator is 1, the fraction is in simplest form, or it is reduced to lowest terms.(Other terms that means simplest form are lowest form or reduced terms)

Greatest Common Factor
the largest number that divides evenly into all of the numbers 12 = 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12 16 = 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 16 GCF = 4

How to simplify a fraction
Find the greatest common factor of the numerator and the denominator and divide both by that number.
