Adjectives Definition: Used to describe nouns or pronouns
Answer the questions What kind? Which one? How many? How much? They may come before or after the item being described Types of Adjectives: Proper: begins with a capital letter example: Chinese food Articles: a, an, the They refer to a general group of people, places, or things Demonstrative Adjective: this, that, these, those They refer to a noun or pronoun. Example: this shoe or those books Demonstrative Pronoun: same four words, but are used alone instead of referring to something. Example: this is yours or those are mine

Comparative: compares one person or thing with another.
It is one degree higher or lower than the base word. Example: The desk is heavier than the chair. This shirt is cheaper than that one. Superlative: compares one person or thing to several others. It is the highest or lowest degree. Example: This is the best pizza in the world. That was the hardest test I have ever taken.
