A: Congenital bicuspid aortic valve, producing isolated aortic stenosis. In this young adult, the aortic valve is calcified (black arrow). The left ventricular contour on the PA chest film is rounded (reflecting hypertrophy) but not enlarged. The ascending aorta is too prominent (arrowheads) and is out of proportion to the rest of the aorta. B: L ateral film.
