Job 1: Chief Executive Carrying out the laws passed by congress.
In charge of 18 cabinet departments. Appoints head of cabinet positions w/ senate approval Has the power to make an Executive Order-used to “take care that the laws are faithfully executed.” Ex: Integrating Schools, Appoints supreme court judges, and make pardons

Job 2: Chief Diplomat Directs U.S. foreign policy.
Makes decisions about how U.S. acts towards other countries.

Job 3: Commander and Chief
The President controls all of the U.S. armed forces. Congress and the president Share the power to go to war.

Job 4: Legislation Leader
The President can pass bills that Congress has voted on. He can also veto bills. Every President has a legislative program and he works with congress to get bills introduced and passed.

Job 5: Head of State National Symbol!
Meets with Kings and Queens of other countries and carries out ceremonial functions for U.S. Ex: Medal for heros

Job 6: Economic Leader Every president tries to help the country’s economic prosperity. He deals with problems in unemployment, rising prices, and high taxes. He plans the Federal Government Budget

Job 7: Party Leader Leader of the political party he is part of.
The party works hard to get it’s presidential candidate elected. Once elected he returns the favor by helping the party raise money and assisting other party members to get elected in other political positions. Ex: Governor, Mayor, Senator, ect…..
