1 Why we don’t give up 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

2 There are 3 P’s or ways to remember so that we don’t give up.
The Christian life was never promised as an easy way to live, instead, Paul constantly remind us that we must have a purpose and a plan because times will be difficult and Satan will attack. But we never persevere without the promise of a prize – a promise God will keep. There are 3 P’s or ways to remember so that we don’t give up.

3 The PURPOSE Run to get the price Run with purpose in every step
Don’t get tired of doing good Don’t give up Do good to everyone Put on all of God’s armor Pray in every occasion Press on to possess that perfection for which Christ possessed you 1 Cor. 9: 24-27 Galatians 6:7-10 Eph. 6:10-20 Phil. 3:12-14

4 2 Tim. 2:1-13 Teach these great truths to people who are able to pass them on to others. Be strong in Christ’s grace even when your faith is faltering. The Plan Discipline your body training it Live to please the spirit Use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy Forget the past; press on to reach the end of the race 1 Cor. 9: 24-27 Galatians 6:7-10 Eph. 6:10-20 Phil. 3:12-14

5 Endure suffering as a soldier and don’t get tied up in worldly affairs
Follow the Lord’s rules as an athlete must do in order to win Work hard, like a farmer who enjoys the fruit of his labor 2 Tim. 2:1-13 The Prize An eternal prize Everlasting life Taking your stand against the devils strategies 1 Cor. 9: 24-27 Galatians 6:7-10 Eph. 6:10-20

6 Conclusion: The heavenly prize for which God calls you
We will live with Christ: we will reign with Him He remains faithful Phil. 3:12-14 2 Tim. 2:1-13 Conclusion: So, as Christian we need to have Perseverance, Persistence, to get the prize, God has a purpose for your pain, a plan or a reason for your struggles and a prize or reward for your faithfulness so don’t give up!

7 1 2 3 4 1 Corinthians 9:  Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

8 1 2 3 Galatians 6:  Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

9 Ephesians 6:  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. 1 2 3

10 1 2 3 Philippians 3:  Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

11 2 Timothy 2:1-13 1 You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 3 Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. 5 Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. 7 Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this. 8 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, 9 for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. 10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. 11 Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him; 12 if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us; 13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself. 1 2 3
