Meet the challenges of the class, NOT just get through the class!
Have integrity NO CHEATING Homework, class work, tests, essays, etc. Be self-disciplined and focused Complete all work as assigned. LATE WORK IS NOT ACCEPTED! Study, Study, Study! Be in class ready to work Listen, view, discuss, write Take notes! Submit neat, well-organized work ON TIME that is thoughtful and well-developed Writing that is a struggle to read, illegible and/or messy, showing little effort and/or thought will earn 60% or 0.

Classroom Basics Textbook is needed each day.
Two hall passes per semester. Ask first, wait for a response, take pass. Enter and exit using outside door ONLY. Follow the school tardy/truancy policy. Homework needs to be ready for submission before the bell rings. Staple or paper clip your work BEFORE the bell rings. Class time is not for stapling or clipping!!! Work not ready for submission will not be collected. LATE WORK IS NOT ACCEPTED! Basic supplies are needed. In class: textbook/handouts; pen, blue or black ink, #2 pencils, paper, highlighters, efficient erasers Out of class: access to a computer with the internet, and a printer. LET ME KNOW BEFORE THIS FRIDAY IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO GET ANY OF THE SUGGESTED SUPPLIES ABOVE.

Vertical Box – Miscellaneous information to be printed by student when assigned. Individual Class – daily homework/class information. Effort is made to keep these files up to date. LATE WORK IS NOT ACCEPTED! Communication is important! – ONLY a good tool for absences over one day. Conference with teacher Hours: 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Teaching Hours: Periods 0-5) Lunch (Appointment is necessary) After hours will vary (Make an appointment!) Most likely Mondays and Tuesdays until 4:00 Note – Plan ahead. Get up early, give up lunch, set up an appointment.

Grades A grade value is NOT assigned to all work!
Complete ALL work as if it will have a grade value!! Do not expect grades to be rounded up. An 89.9 is a B! SAT Vocabulary: Weekly Assignment
Vocabulary is due every Monday, beginning August 28. LATE WORK IS NOT ACCEPTED! Print out a copy of the weekly list (5 points) On a separate piece of paper complete the following assignment (20 points): -Vocabulary Word - three synonyms - three antonyms Write a paragraph in which you use at least seven vocabulary words from the week’s list. Your paragraph must have a purpose and must be well written. Creative Personal narrative Neatness ALWAYS counts. Work may be typed.

SAT Vocabulary Tests are cumulative: Lists 1, 2, and 3
Access lists from the class web page. Look for SAT Vocab 10th Grade in the vertical box on the front page. Vocabulary is independent, BUT bring your questions to class. Test dates have been posted on the website.
