1 ATLAS activities in the IT cloud in April 2008

2 Data Distribution test
There has been a 1 week delay on the schedule Week March 31st to April 6th : T1-T1 tests Small interest for CNAF (other T1s being tested) Week April 7th to April 13th : Functional Test Data distribution from T0 to T1s at nominal rate 56000 seconds/day of data taking, data distributed over 24h ~600 MB/s out of CERN, 1/3 to tape, 2/3 to disk CNAF share is 5% of RAW, 10% ESD, all AOD. ~10MB/s into tape, 40 MB/s into disk All data must arrive at T1s within 3 days

3 Data Distribution Tests
Week April 21st to April 27th : T1-T1 tests CNAF under test, quite some involvement is needed Subscribe datasets from other T1 to CNAF Monitor subscriptions and FTS server (actively) Week April 28th to may 4th : Throughput test Run T0 exports at 200% of nominal peak rate ~2GB out from CERN CNAF target ~ 30MB/s to tape, 130 MB/s to disk

4 Reprocessing Deadline for reprocessing of M5 data was April 2nd
Basically missed by every cloud (CNAF had downtime) Need to conclude reprocessing of M5 in 2 weeks Deadline for reprocessing of FDR data is end of April M5 data reprocessing tested successfully See Claudia presentation Deadlines have little importance… need to understand pre-staging limitation in Need a full discussion with CNAF data management experts about this.

5 MC Production Stopped in IT since a couple of months
Disk Space crisis The disk space which matters is T2 storage is a cache Need to restart at both T1 and T2s 15TB of space free (were used for CCRC08 and then cleaned) ~200MB/job to be kept on disk, would mean 75K jobs in IT But you need to keep some space (?TB) for AODs from other clouds Disk space crisis … + WMS pilot factory will be used Quite some load on and
