2 Introduction Frequency Finder has been developed with FileMaker 13 Pro Advanced Frequency assignment planning criteria as per Handbook Volume II implemented Module for VHF COM frequency assignments completed Global COM list 3 synchronized by Regional Offices Assess compatibility of frequency assignments Graphical interface with Google Earth

3 Installing Frequency Finder Runtime
Download from the FSMP website the zip-file FF R ( Remove earlier version of Frequency Finder, if any. Unzip and run the installer file FF R.exe Select to create desktop icon Download and install Google Earth More details in the User Manual : Installing Frequency Finder (Run-time version) If necessary, continue with making sure everyone has FF installed and opens correctly, together with Google Earth. Check Google Earth settings as per the user install manual

User manual Sync Manual Active Region Web sites Module VHF COM Modules (in prep), SSR Mode S II Code Explain functions using the Frequency Finder Start Page : Buttons User Manual and Sync Manual opens the file with these manuals. The Manual are installer when installing Frequency Finder and are in the folder C:\FrequencyFincer. Click the field Active Region to change the Region from which the user is normally working. Websites will open the internet browser (e.g. FireFox) with the home page for the ICAO website with VHF COM Frequency assignments, The Frequency Spectrum and Management Panel and Google Earth from where Google Earth can be downloaded and installed. The buttons VHF COM, VHF NAV, …, SSR II open the relevant module in Frequency Finder. Currently only the button VHF COM is functional. Click button VHF COM to go to the VHF COM Home Page

Navigate to Home Page: Automatic Connection Test and check if the COM list 3 was modified Also with button Check Sync Dialog box is displayed if a download synchronization is necessary Full URL Message field Download button Back-up and Recovery Explain using the actual Frequency Finder Home Page: When navigating from Start to Home page VHF Com Frequency Finder checks if an internet connection to the Server is available and if the COM list 3 (Frequency assignments or Polygons) was modified and a download synchronization is necessary. The same check can be triggered by the user with the button Check Sync. Go to COM list 3. Buttons AFI, APAC, CAR etc return the regional COM list 3 for the selected Region. The button Active Region returns the COM list 3 for the active Region. The field Time Zone displays the difference between the local computer time and UTC. The field Full URL is to be used to enter the URL for the ICAO website for frequency assignments. The full URL needs to be entered in the format The message field is used to convey message from ICAO to the user (e.g. when a new version of Frequency Finder is available. Discuss later: Back-up and recovery. The button Download it to be used to trigger manually a download sync (either to download only modifications or the complete tables with VHF COM list 3 and/or Safire Polygons. FIR polygons are available through ICAO as a sale-able document and updating with this table in Frequency Finder will be introduced in a future version of Frequency Finder. Currently ICAOFIR 2012 data is installed in Frequency Finder. Integrity check – when navigating from the Home page for VHF COM frequency assignment, an integrity check of the data in COM list 3 is performed. See slides Integrity check (1) and Integrity Check (2).

Click “LOCAL BACK UP” to create a backup Back-up # is added to the list Click relevant back-up # (1 – 5) to recover Backup: Table COM list 3 Table Polygons Table Historical Home Page See user manual to recover from a back-up created with an earlier version of Frequency Finder Create back-up on local computer. Click button LOCAL BACKUP A backup copy is created for: Table COM list 3 Table of Polygons Table Historical Home Page (with upload/download sync information) The backup version (#) is registered in the fields “Recover from local back-up” . Five back-up copies can be created. The sixth back-up copy replaces back-up copy #1 etc. The back-up version is registered in the format Backup #1 followed by the date and time when the back-up was created, This format matches with the backup files BackupFF xxxx where the number 1 matches with the registered backup. Recover from a local back-up copy. Just click the relevant button for the back-up from which Frequency Finder should recover in the field Recover from local back-up. Recover from a back-up that was created with an earlier version of Frequency Finder (e.g. when a new version of Frequency Finder is installed) is possible and described in the User Manual.
