3. What is Green Jobs-AP?
Green Jobs-AP is an online Community of Practice (CoP) that allows members (Governments, Trade Unions, Employers, civil society, UN etc.) from across Asia Pacific to share knowledge, deepen understanding and engage in dialogue on Green Jobs.

4. ILO’s Networking Agenda
In 2007 constituents asked for an Asia-Pacific Knowledge Network on Decent Work
ILO’s Knowledge Sharing Strategy was designed to:
Build strong internal capacity to manage knowledge
Develop Communities of Practice (CoP)
A CoP is ‘a group of professionals, informally bound together through exposure to a common class of problems or pursuit of solutions…

A CoP is an entity that helps maximize the value of organizational knowledge
Apply ILO expertise to policy and advocacy

5. ILO’s Communities of Practice
Since then five CoPs with common goals has been developed to:
Foster mutual capacity-building
Share resources in the ILO areas of work
Connect ILO constituents to each other and to other stakeholders and partners

6. Where we are
As of June 2011:
A Workshop was held in Jakarta, Indonesia in December 2010, where a common agenda and roadmap was agreed on by 30 core members from Employers’ and Workers’ organizations, Governments, NGOs, International Organizations, UN agencies
More than 120 members from Employers’ and Workers’ organizations, Governments, NGOs, International Organizations, UN agencies have registered as members
More than 170 resources have been shared on issues related to GJ
News and upcoming events have been posted (national and regional)
Videos and photos are available on the portal
A Discussion Forum on Policies, programs and measures to promote Green Jobs was hosted on the portal in May/June

February – Electronic brochure on Green Jobs-AP

June – Consolidated response from the 1st discussion
