Chronic grade 3, complete ACL tear
Chronic grade 3, complete ACL tear. Sagittal T1 sequence through the intercondylar notch level demonstrates absence of the ACL indicating a chronic complete tear with resorption (star). The PCL (arrow) is intact but is buckled and this is an associated imaging finding of an ACL tear. Immediately anterior to the PCL is a normal variant meniscofemoral ligament of Humphrey that is imaged in cross-section (long thin arrow).
