Other people or recording Um, Like, etc. Reduce walking around, hand movements, playing with your hair, etc. Eye contact with audience Don’t read the screen or notes PowerPoint Presenter View Relax More familiarity with the talk reduces all of this

Shaky laser pointer & blinding the audience Enthusiasm is good, but don’t over do it Interact with the audience

Don’t apologize for any aspect of the talk Avoid adding a few last impromptu words

Repeat for the audience Stop and reflect Postpone answering questions until after the talk Unless it is needed to clarify an ambiguity or you pose a question

Avoid long discussions with one person If you cannot answer a question, say so Don’t apologize Offer to research it and get back to them or ask for suggestions from the audience
